Films

During a period of three lessons we watched Se7en, a film about two detectives that are searching for a murder. The murder - John Doe - kills people with the guideline of the seven deadly sins.
Here is the trailer and the opening credits, which we were all really excited about because they were the first of their kind.

BFI Vlog

As promised, this my very short vlog about the BFI trip with Elle (and also a bit of Holly and Kelly). In the vlog we talk about what we thought of the BFI, whilst running to keep up with Ms. Foster's speedy legs.

British Film Institute PPT

On the 12th November the media group took a trip to the BFI. We had a really great time learning about our coursework requirements and learnt a lot about what to do and what not to do during our opening two minutes! Here's Pete's PPT from the day:

I've also recorded a blog with Elle, Kelly, Holly and Janadhi about the day which will be up soon!

Gogglebox

So this is our gogglebox for Ms. Fitzjohn! It was supposed to be exclusive for the TV drama section of our course, but we realised that in filming and editing the video it also linked to the coursework for Ms. Foster. Enjoy! (I'm the crazy cat lady)

Film inspiration

So, our biggest inspiration right now is the opening scene in The Woman in Black. It's perfect for us, because our main focuses are horror, children and non-diegetic sound.
Similar to this extract, we aim to use very little diegetic sound, dull and dark colours and similar non-diegetic music. We think that these three factors make the extract very creepy, which is what we're aiming for.

(The beginning of the extract starts at 0.12)

Another scene that inspires us is from my all time favourite, The Shining. I've been obsessed with this film since I was a little girl, so it's especially inspirational for me.
We like the extract because the girls are very similar to how we want Keeley to be, which is very creepy and awkward. We don't plan on having her speak like the Grady Girls, though.
